.:| Retro-Virus Pill |:.

What about a pill, when you take just one, it mutates your DNA in order to give you a special ability? Why not? Magneto did it with a HUGE spinning machine...or would have. Why can't I do it with a pill?

There are all kinds of pills out there. Pills to stop aches and pains. Pills to treat symptoms. Pills to poison. Pills to feed. Pills to stop the production of the parasites some call children. And pills to help the production of said parasites. Well. Now there's a pill to mutate yourself to enable a special, different ability.

How long will it take to complete the process?
The pill will start working immediately. The pill contains a retro-virus which is a man-made virus that will duplicate itself and, without harming you, will attach to your cells and injects it's DNA. That DNA will combine with your DNA to enable your ability and then, once that is complete, the virus dies. Within 24 hours, the process will be complete and permanent.

What are the side-effects?
The pill will give you cold symptoms before the process is complete. Headache, nausea, chills and a cough are all normal within the first 24 hours after you take the pill. After the first 24 hours, if symptoms continue, call your doctor or physician immediately.

How will I know when I have my special ability?
After you take the pill, the retro-virus will implant a dream-like memory to your brain that will work like a tutorial on what ability you have and how to use it. You can access it any time.

I really like the tutorial part! So what do you think the ethics of something like this might be? How would you market something like this? How would people react to the idea? How would this be abused? What if children took it? What if people gave it to animals?

Ethics? Ethics Shmethics! Just kidding. ^_^ Well, people are always looking for ways to better their bodies and their lifestyle. Looking for the next thing to make themselves look/act or feel different. From silicone breasts to butt fat in their lips and now--to a mutation!

Marketing would be simple. Who's not going to want this? Commercial's would be simple. Magazine adds. Word of mouth. But above all: first hand experience with someone who has had it. Witnessing someone who can spread real wings and fly away. Watching someone stretch their elastic body to reach a high shelf or branch on a tree.

I think at first people would react to this much like they react to strange piercings or tattoo's. As time passes people will get used to it and accept it, maybe even try it. There would be a 30-day trial pill that would give you a mutation for 30 days then after the 30 days you would either return to normal or you could take another pill that would make the mutation permanent.

If you take more then one pill, nothing will happen. Once you've taken one pill and had the permanent change, if you take another, nothing will happen. I do think that you would have to have a license for this. Be a certain age, clean background, etc. You would have a visible mark that would let everyone know that you have a mutation. And if you did abuse your ability (ex: break the law in any way) you would be administered the antidote and wouldn't be permitted to mutate again.

Again, you would need to be a certain age. You are supervised while you take the pill for the first 24hrs to make sure the change is a safe one and so they can document what your ability is. Unfortunately, you would have to be watched for a week or so after the pill was administered to make sure nothing backfired or anything.

The effects would be similar, though dangerous if put in the paws/claws/hoofs/flippers of an animal. They could be unpredictable with their ability, if threatened they may burst into flames that won't hurt them, but could cause everything around them to explode. But like I said, there is an antidote and there is no virtual way for anyone to get the pill out of the clinic where it is administered.

OK. But why have you not posted anything else??? What about your research project? Where are the pics?
